THERMAWALL FLUTED
Bold Architectural Ribs with Maximum Thermal Efficiency
Butler® Thermawall Fluted Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) provide premium thermal control combined with a traditional, deep-fluted profile that fits perfectly onto any Butler structural framing system. Engineered for heavy industrial facilities, large-scale warehouses, and commercial manufacturing centers, these sandwich panels feature prominent vertical ribs that add striking visual depth and structural rigidity, delivering a continuous, weathertight building envelope that optimizes energy performance.

The Perfect Balance of Structural Rigidity and Advanced Energy Efficiency
Every commercial and industrial facility looking to combine massive structural durability with rigid energy-code compliance requires an advanced exterior wall solution. The Butler® Thermawall Fluted panel is not just a standard sheet of metal siding. It is a complete engineered sandwich panel system featuring a high-density, polyurethane foam core factory-bonded between interior and exterior steel face sheets. The exterior face features bold, wide-fluted vertical grooves that create distinct shadow lines across the facade, giving your building an industrial-strength architectural look while maintaining heavy-duty structural integrity.
Thermawall Fluted panels feature a concealed fastening system with an advanced tongue-and-groove joint profile, completely hiding screws and clips from view. This unique nesting engineering provides excellent structural spanning capability, allowing the panels to span longer distances between girts while maintaining an absolute vapor seal. With factory-insulated cores available in multiple thicknesses, these panels easily satisfy the most stringent international building codes while providing a crisp, deep-textured finish.

desired looks
You have extensive design flexibility with the Butler Thermawall wall system. Fluted panels create an exterior surface with deep corrugations. Fineline panels create shallow corrugations. And flat panels create a smooth embossed exterior surface ideal for high-profile architectural applications. Each features a durable Butler-Cote™fluoropolymer finish with a Kynar 500® or Hylar 5000® coating. The metal interior face is an attractive, virtually flat finish with a polyester white color and is USDA approved.
Achieved Enery Efficiency
The Butler Thermawall wall system’s factory-installed poured-in-place foam core insulation and thermal break joint design deliver excellent energy efficiency. Panel thicknesses of 2, 2-1/2, 3, and 4 inches are available to match your thermal performance needs, with R-values ranging from R-14 to R-32. Factory-applied joint sealant provides a complete wall system weather barrier.
Unmatched design versatility
Predesigned and factory‑fabricated transition materials make it easy to integrate Stylwall II Flat panels with other Butler Wall Systems, conventional building materials, doors, and windows—without costly field modifications. These components ensure clean connections, faster installation, and long‑term performance, and are available in all Cool Colors offered in the Butler‑Cote™ finish system.
fire-rated assembly
The Butler Thermawall system is engineered with built‑in performance advantages that go beyond energy efficiency. Depending on the configuration, Thermawall insulated metal sandwich panels can achieve one‑ or two‑hour fire‑resistance ratings, providing added protection for code‑driven projects. The system is also FM Global approved, offering proven performance under rigorous testing standards and helping building owners reduce insurance costs through recognized risk‑mitigation certification.
easy Installation
Because only a clip and two fasteners are required at each structural connection, installation of the Butler Thermawall wall system is simple and secure. The entire installation is performed from outside the building envelope, eliminating the need for erection crews to fasten the panels from the inside. The 42-inch panel width (Fluted and Fineline) also helps save installation time and cost.
In stock for Shipping
The Thermawall IMP Sandwich Panel is in stock and has available cut to any length up to 40 feet, giving you fast turnaround for both new construction and replacement projects. Panels can be crated and shipped factory‑direct to your jobsite in just a few days, ensuring you get the exact size you need without delays. Frequently Asked Questions
Still deciding if a Butler building is right for your project? Here’s what most builders ask us before they get started.
Still have questions?
Talk to a real person. Call our Pro Desk Expert Line or request a callback.
What makes a Butler building different from other metal buildings?
Butler has been engineering steel buildings for over 125 years, and AM Star is an authorized Butler distributor, not a reseller of generic components. Every building you get through us uses genuine Butler engineered parts, backed by Butler’s manufacturing standards.
Can I customize the size and layout of my building?
Yes. Butler buildings are engineered to your exact specifications, size, use, and site requirements, whether that’s a small workshop or a large industrial facility. Our team works with you from initial design through structural engineering to make sure it fits your project.
How much does a Butler building cost?
Pricing depends on size, building type, durability grade, and site conditions, so there’s no single number that fits every project. Request a quote and we’ll get you accurate pricing fast, tailored to your specific building.
How long does the process take, from quote to finished building?
Timelines vary by project scope and current fabrication schedules. Once you request a quote, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe based on your specific building and location.
Do you handle engineering and permitting?
Yes. Every Butler building is engineered to meet local codes and structural requirements, with stamped drawings provided for permitting, backed by Butler’s manufacturing standards.
What's the difference between a Butler building and a barndominium?
A barndominium is one type of building you can build using Butler’s steel building system, combining residential living space with a metal building structure. It uses the same engineered components and durability standards as our other building types.
What if I'm not building new, I just need parts or repairs?
We also supply genuine Butler parts and components for repairs, replacements, or expansions, no need to order a full building. Browse our parts catalog or contact us directly.
How do I get started?
Request a quote and tell us about your project, building type, size, and timeline. We’ll follow up with accurate pricing and next steps, no pressure, no runaround.
